Why did you choose UMBC?
I wanted to come to UMBC because this campus allows me to network easily. In addition, the diversity of the campus was very important for me.
What do you love about UMBC?
I love UMBC because this university has done a lot to help me find opportunities that I otherwise wouldn’t, The professors are kind and are always willing to lend me a hand. Overall, I love the UMBC atmosphere and the motivation that surrounds me.
What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
My favorite class at UMBC is ENME 204, which is Introduction to Engineering with Design and CAD. This class has allowed me to practice designing various items in 3 dimensions. In terms of my career, Solidworks will always be relevant, so I plan to continue practicing my designing skills.
Where did you complete your internship?
I have completed an internship at Thoughts to Paper and Asbury Methodist Village. At Thoughts to Paper, I completed patent applications that were sent to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. At Asbury Methodist Village, I interned in the human resources office, assisting employees as needed. In the Summer of 2019, I will be a Mechanical Engineering intern at Black and Veatch. I am very excited for this opportunity, where I will be able to work hand in hand with engineers.
What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree at UMBC?
After I receive my Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, I plan to work for an engineering firm full time while studying to complete my masters part time. I then want to end up working as a Project Engineer.
