Why did you choose UMBC?
I chose UMBC for its strong academics and reputation in the Engineering and Information Technology field. What really attracted me here was how diverse the school is and how focused and determined students are. UMBC was the best option for me in all aspects including tuition, location, and academia. What do you love about UMBC?
What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
My favorite class at UMBC was IS 310 with Tate Redding because he really made the class interesting and interactive. I learned a lot in that class and with his way of teaching I was able to retain a lot of that information and use it in the IS classes to come.
Where did you complete your internship or applied learning experience?
I’ve worked for UWT as IT Support for over 2 years and so I’ve applied a lot of what I learned in class at work, and vice-versa. My internship at SSSI really opened my eyes to cyber security and all the different parts that go into it.
What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree at UMBC?
I hope to do a combined B.S./M.S. in Information Systems and start my career after graduation. My future goals after UMBC include working in a management position and joining the effort in cyber security.
