What do you love about UMBC?
I love the diversity of the campus and the many opportunities that I have to get engaged with the diverse culture. I also enjoy the variety of activities/events that are made available to students because I love to get involved and stay active.
What would you say to a prospective student?
Try out as many activities as you can because you may be surprised at how enjoyable some of them are. I’d also suggest attending as many events (info sessions, speaker series, cultural events, workshops, etc.) as possible because you are guaranteed to learn something that you did not know before. In short, make the most of your experience at UMBC.
What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
IS125: Info Systems Logic and Design Through this class, I gained exposure to the Alice computer programming tool. With this tool, I learned to create 3D scenes with moving characters/objects, which was a fun challenge for me to take on. In addition, I had a great professor who was very helpful and nice (Professor Dana Smith).
Where did you complete your internship?
For the past 9 months, I have been interning with Northrop Grumman Corporation, supporting the 8 programs within the Program Management Office.
What do you hope to achieve after you complete you degree at UMBC?
I hope to earn a full time position, likely with the company I am interning with. Once a full time hire, I plan to start grad school to earn my masters in something tech-related (undecided).
