Why did you decide to attend UMBC? And why did you choose your program in particular?
I always wanted to do something for the environment. I wanted to use my knowledge to invent new green, environment friendly technology. When I found in CBEE department, UMBC, I will be able to use my background Chemical Engineering knowledge to work for the environmental sector, I decided to apply for it.
What are some of the benefits of being part of the graduate community at UMBC?
The graduate community at UMBC is very friendly towards the international students. They have helped me to overcome all the hurdles to get used to a new country and culture. I am always learning new culture from the community.
Briefly describe your graduate research and its purpose/applications.
I am right now working on the toxicity and environmental impacts of nanomaterials. I am currently involved in Zebrafish embryo apoptosis quantification projects. Also, working on building an apparatus to measure generalized polarization more accurately.
What are your plans after graduation from UMBC?
I will try to join in the academia or industrial research field.
When you are not teaching/researching, what are your hobbies or interests?
I love playing video games and watching different tv series and movies.
