Why did you chose UMBC?
I chose UMBC because of the Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) program. I fell in love with the community when I went to various events and applied to be a scholar and got in. Being apart of this community made the transition to college easier and meet a lot of people in my major.
What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
My favorite major-related class so far has been Artificial Intelligence (CMSC 471). This is a field I have always been interested in and this class is a great introduction. My favorite non-major related class is GWST 100 or Introduction to Gender and Woman Studies. I liked talking about various issues in the field and having thoughtful discussions in class.
Where did you complete your applied learning experience?
I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia through the Education Abroad Network (TEAN). I got to travel not just around Australia, but New Zealand too.
What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree at UMBC?
I’m not sure yet. Computer Science is such a diverse field and I’m someone that likes to just see what happens and not stay in one place too long. I love to travel so whatever I end up doing, hopefully traveling will be a huge part of it.
