Why did you chose UMBC?
Rated as one of the top Universities in Maryland for Information Systems/Cybersecurity and I wanted to stay in Maryland to attend school

What do you love about UMBC?
Close to home (I’m a commuter) and I like the campus and class sizes. I also like that the career center has numerous resources for internships and jobs after graduation

What would you say to a prospective student?
This is one of the top rated schools in the state of Maryland for Information Technology and they have a great success rate for students getting jobs after graduation. I also think its great that many of the top Cyber/Computer related companies come to the campus for recruiting.

What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
I just transferred from FCC and the spring is my first semester, so I have not entered into my major classes yet. I am completing the last 5 pre-requs for my gen eds

What are you researching?
National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence – Internship (March-Sept) as a Research Assistant. I am working with Dr Joshi and Dr Sampath on this effort

Where did you complete your internship/applied learning experience?
National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence thru a grant from NIST

What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree at UMBC?
I would like to work in the Cybersecurity field where I can apply my AA degree in Cybersecurity from FCC and my BS in Information Systems from UMBC.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I have earned my AA from Frederick Community College in Cybersecurity. I like that it was an easy transition to UMBC from FCC to finish my BS.
