Why did you decide to attend UMBC? And why did you choose your program in particular?
I was drawn to UMBC because of the attention the school places on research. I was looking for a school that both paid attention to research and the application of the research to global problems. UMBC gave me the opportunity to advance in research and taught its application to other areas of the society.

What is your favorite thing about UMBC?
UMBC carries an ambiance of research that I love so much. Both the professors and students are super amazing. I loved the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of people’s lives in Baltimore.It was such an incredible opportunity.
Have you worked on any specific research projects (including any opportunity to publish or present your research) that you would like to highlight?
I have worked on a project alongside with my advisor focused on drug repositioning. The project attracted the TCF grant (Technology Catalyst Fund) and we intend to pursue other forms of funding in the future.
What are your plans after you complete your degree at UMBC?
I have a couple of offers on the table. I currently have a post-doc opportunity with ORISE- Air Force Institute of Technology. I also intend to start my company focused on solving major healthcare issues.
When you’re not teaching and researching, what are your hobbies and interests?
I love programming and stock trading.

I am married to amazing wife, Gabi Odebode and I have three lovely kids Joy, Sam, and John. They are my greatest supporters on the planet.
