Engineering Professional Programs

The Division of Professional Studies (DPS) offers professionally focused master’s degrees, graduate certificates, accelerated B.S./M.S. programs, undergraduate programs, individual courses and non-degree training programs. DPS partners with UMBC academic programs, including programs in the College of Engineering and Information Technology and the Engineering (COEIT) and the Computing Education Program (ECEP), to design and deliver high-quality graduate programs on the UMBC main campus and on the UMBC-Shady Grove campus.

The COEIT portfolio of Engineering Professional Programs are instructed by a diverse team of industry practice leaders.  These programs are designed to equip the engineering professional to effectively lead and grapple with the challenges facing the technology-driven enterprise.  Recognizing the fact that technical and technological leadership requires lifelong learning, the COEIT portfolio of programs offers preparation for industry recognized credentials such as Engineering Manager Professional Certifications by the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM), Systems Engineering Professional Certifications by the International Council on Systems Engineering, and Project Management Certifications by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
