[2/25/2010] -- UMBC students are becoming involved in the sport of Intercollegiate Cyberwarfare. Competitions include teams from different schools who are given certain network configurations, a certain amount of time (three hours) to deal with any vulnerabilities in those systems and then concerted attacks are launched by a team of cyber-professionals. UMBC recently finished first place overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifying Rounds and will now move on to the Regional Finals held March 11-13 in Columbia, Maryland.
