Researchers in COEIT and UMBC work with small businesses and large corporations in key areas of research. The College and UMBC conduct cutting-edge research in a wide range of research areas. Our industry partners work with top-notch faculty and students who are committed to developing solutions on various engineering and information technology topics.

UMBC and COEIT partner with industry to provide opportunities to advance research, to have access to state-of-the-art technology and resources, and to recruit students for their future workforce. Graduate research assistants work closely with their faculty research advisors on topics that are connected to their research interests. Undergraduate students also participate in research activities and also in UMBC’s Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day (URCAD), which is held annually during the Spring semester.
