Why did you choose UMBC?
I chose UMBC because of the opportunities provided by the Meyerhoff Scholars program, and the excellent education and research available at UMBC.
What do you love about UMBC? I love that the faculty and students are encouraging and always willing to help.
What would you say to a prospective student?
Don’t be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. UMBC is a great place to try something new, and it leads to great friendships.
What has been your favorite class at UMBC?
My favorite class has been Thermodynamics.
What are you researching? What faculty member are you working with?
I will be researching biomedical engineering at Stanford University this summer. Last summer, I completed research regarding space communication.
Where did you complete your internship?
I completed my internship at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center last summer. This summer, I will be researching under the Amgen Scholars Program.
What do you hope to achieve after you complete your degree at UMBC?
I hope to continue on to graduate school after UMBC. I plan on completing a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering.
